He was predeceased by: his wife Carley Zimmerman; his parents, Hazel Zimmerman and Ernest "Buzz" Zimmerman; his siblings, Catherine "Sis" Shaver, Ernest "Buddy" Zimmerman, Delmar "Ike" Zimmerman, Steven "Rock" Zimmerman and Sidney "Pat" Zimmerman; his stepdaughter Cathy Jordan; and his stepbrother Lonnie "Buck" Miles.
He is survived by: his son Waynard Lee Zimmerman, Jr.; his stepchildren, Carol Britt, Gaylen of Partlow and Charles Williams of Partlow; and his brothers, William "Bill" Zimmerman of Partlow and Julian "Dee" Zimmerman of Rupert, WV. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
