He is survived by: his father Walter Jervis Sheffield; his grandmother Betty Lou Bailey; his siblings, John Courtney Sheffield II and Margaret Sheffield Ford (Ben); his stepsister Colleen Boxwell; his nephew John Courtney "Trey" Sheffield III; and his niece Georgia Moore Sheffield.
