He was predeceased by: his former wife Shirley Mae Roakes; his granddaughter Teresa Dawn Sullivan; and his stepson Edwin E. Gilbert. He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Roakes; his children, Darlene Eaton (Ronnie), Teresa Cole (David) and Bobby Roakes; his daughter-in-law Brenda Gilbert; and his sisters, Ruth Enochs and Lola Foster. He is also survived by six grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
