He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary M. Green and Harlan G. Matter; and his stepfather James N. Green. He is survived by: his children, Matthew Matter (Laura) and Stephanie George (Brandon); his grandchildren, Skylar George, Alyssa George and Nora Matter; and his siblings, Cheri Matter, Nancy Butzner, Laurie Jones and Michelle Smith.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fredericksburg Baptist Church.
