We are sad to announce that on December 1, 2024, at the age of 81, Scarlett Newton Shelton of Fredericksburg, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Solomon Newton and Laura Newton; her siblings, Barbara Wise (Bernard) and Preston Newton (Ann); her mother-in-law Elizabeth Shelton; and her pets, Brownie, Nissie and Madalyn.
She is survived by: her husband Harold Shelton; her nephew Rodney Newton; her niece Pamela Errigo; her godsons, Jamie, Jeff and John Brooks; and her friend Cynthia Bullock.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Covenant Funeral Service - Fredericksburg (10830 Patriot Hwy, Fredericksburg, VA 22408). A burial was held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Sunset Memorial Gardens (3702 Loren Dr, Fredericksburg, VA 22408).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bethel Baptist Church (1193 White Oak Rd., Fredericksburg, VA 22405).
