We are sad to announce that on November 21, 2018, at the age of 88, Samuel P. Mason (Fredericksburg, Virginia), born in Miami, Florida passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Perry and Lillian Perry; his adoptive mother Willie Roach Mason; and his brother Eppa Dalton. He is survived by: his wife Viola; his son Mark Mason; his stepson Byron Hinton (Pat); and his grandchildren, Ashley and Brandon.

“Another friend lost. Sam & I worked together years ago at the then Naval Weapons Lab, Dahlgren and were members of the System Safety Society. Most importantly, Sam introduced me to the Izaak Walton League of America, one of America’s oldest & most successful conservation organizations. Every time we talked on the phone we had a running joke between us; we always said, “Mason-Dixon on the Line”. So, “Mason-Dixon on the Line” one last time; this is Dixon signing off. Rest in Peace. Jack Dixon”
