He was predeceased by: his former wife Corrine Hall Hairfield; his daughter Edna McCullen Taylor; his granddaughter Dawn McCullen; his parents, John Hairfield and Flavy Hairfield; his sisters, Doris McWhirt and Mabel Carr; and his half-siblings, Melvin, Chancellor, Ivan Hairfield and Cora Lucente.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Hairfield; his daughter Thelma Gallahan (Robert); his stepchildren, Donna Stanton (Wayne), Kathy Andrews and Ken Andrews (Mary Portelly); his grandchildren, Toney Gallahan (Marlene), David Gallahan (Kristen), Tina Ferrer (Donna), Sherry Hoffman (Richard), Joseph McCullen Jr., Tiffany Kopcak (John), Phillip and Mallory Andrews; his great grandchildren, Frances, Misty, David Jr., Brittany, Melanie, Josh, Rikki, Jason, Hollie, Dusty, Shelbie and Haley; his great great grandchildren, Chase, Emma, Aiden, Liam, Patrick, Lucas, Preston, Berkley, Bailey Brandie, Wyatt and Jesse; and his half-siblings, James, Gene Hairfield, Marie Brent, Mary Burchell, Annie Dove and Linda Ballengee.
