He was predeceased by: his parents, Pearl Chewning Cox and Alvin Richard Cox of Spotsylvania, VA.; and his sister Claudette Jones of Richmond. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Cox (Jeannie); his children, Donald Cox (Kathy), Darren Cox (Renee) of Stafford, Dianne Pape of Fredericksburg, Heather Cox (Jo Jo) of Spotsylvania, Kimberly Certa of Richmond and Ron Ostrander (Dionne); and his siblings, Dee Dee Patton, Linda Wells of Richmond and Albert Cox (Nancy). He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 10 cherished nieces and nephews and many grand nieces and nephews.
