He was predeceased by: his parents, John D. Shaner and Margaret B. Shaner; and his brothers, John B. (Jack) and Gordon W. Shaner. He is survived by: his wife Cheryl G. Shaner; his children, Donald A., Debi Shaner of Maryland, Sheryl A., Michael Moffett, Deborah A., Little of Virginia, Chet and Jennifer Copperthite of Alabama; his niece Margaret Gardner of Georgia; and his nephew John Shaner of Tennessee. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
