She was predeceased by: her husband Edward; her parents, Edward Lee Sterne and Ethel Embrey Sterne; and her brothers, Thompson "Tom" W. Sterne of Stafford, William "Bill" H. Sterne of Stafford and Marion L. Sterne of Stafford.

She is survived by: her daughter Carolyn Knight Whittaker (Freddie) of Stafford; her grandsons, Christopher T. Knight of Stafford and Brian S. Knight of San Diego; her great grandchildren, Callie, Camden Knight of Stafford, Ethan and Miles Knight of San Diego; and also, Kenneth E. Knight and Joyce Sterne. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
