With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Lourene Tate Silvey of Fredericksburg, Virginia, born in Atlanta, Georgia, who passed away on July 30, 2023 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Callahan Tate and Mary Irene Berry Tate; and her sister Polly Tate LeCraw of Brandon, FL.. She is survived by: her husband Frank Cabell Silvey, Jr.; her daughters, Virginia Silvey Gobble of Moseley, VA, Lucy Silvey Quann of Fredericksburg and Mary Cabell Silvey of Fredericksburg; her grandchildren, Menden Kalan (Trever) of Apison, TN, James Cabell Poole (Jenny) of Chattanooga, TN, Paul "Eric" Frederick Olson, Jr. of Raleigh, NC, Lucy Tate Hallberg (Mason) of Fredericksburg, VA, Catharine B. Quann of Fredericksburg, VA, Virginia Callahan VanHorn (Kenny) of Powhatan, VA, Jacqueline Linton (Andrew) of Jacksonville, FL and Frank Cabell Gobble (Sarah) of Richmond, VA; and her great grandchildren, Rylie Olson, Emily Linton, Riley Linton of Virginia, Corbin VanHorn, Evan VanHorn, Penelope "Penny" Gobble and Evelyn Poole.
Lou was active in many organizations including the Ladies' Memorial Association, Historic Fredericksburg Foundation, Inc., and Rappahannock Valley Garden Club of Virginia, to name a few.
