He was predeceased by: his parents, Fleming Hackney and Edith Barney; his son Franklin; and his brother Charlie. He is survived by: his wife Edna; his children, Lewis "Smokey" (Whitney), Tyrone, Chris (Lynnita), Shawn (Lakiesia), Lavelle, Christina (Charles), Kimberly, Katrina, Lakeisha and Lashawn; his mother-in-law Annie Johnson; his siblings, Thomas (Bertha), Freddie, Haywood (Elaine), Kenneth (Gale) and Annette; and his siblings-in-law, Virginia, Shirley (Neal), Freda, Jeanette, Vanessa, Clifton, Melvin and Stanley. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins and a WHOLE lot of friends.
