It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Joycelyn McGee Strickland of Fredericksburg, Virginia, born in Mamou, Louisiana, who passed away on October 6, 2022, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parent Willie McGee; her husband Lynwood Houston Strickland; her son Richard Strickland; her granddaughter Melissa Lee; her son-in-law Roger Mason; and her siblings, Ionel McGee and Zola Doise.
She is survived by: her daughters, Sandra Mason and Patricia Alt (Joe); her grandchildren, L. Roger Mason, Jr. (Colleen), Heather Mason and Matthew Strickland; and her daughter-in-law Melodie Strickland. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
