He was predeceased by: his wife Louise Alice Hutchings of Houlton; and his sisters, Lorraine DuPont and Margaret Lillian Legault.
One notable achievement was his assistance in collecting donations used to purchase a church bell, which was donated to a small West German church of refugees that fled across the border of Czechoslovakia and East Germany in 1961-1962 while the Communist government closed down the borders.
