He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Ballard and Effie Clift Ballard; and his siblings, James Ballard, Calvin Ballard, Eunice Baker and Bernice Sacrey.
He is survived by: his wife Anna Lee Ballard; his son David Ballard (Patti); his grandchildren, Stephan Batt (Lindsay) and Angela Batt; and his great grandchildren, Ava Batt, Siena Batt, Camden Batt and Gavin Batt. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ferry Farm Baptist Church.
