He was predeceased by: his wife Dorothy P. Spitler; his parents, Edward Spitler and Sallie Spitler; his brothers, Edward, Homer, Kenneth and Robert Spitler; his niece Debbi S. Woodard; and his nephew Craig Schleigh.
He is survived by: his granddaughters, Victoria V. Coakley (Brad) and Larissa V. Ronckovitz (Dan); his great grandchildren, Corinne Ronckovitz, Nicolas Ronckovitz, Jack Coakley and Scott Coakley; and his nieces and nephews, James Spitler (Cindy), Sharon S. Joly (Roger), Dorothy S. Mooney, Janet S. Moyers, Cathi S. Sullivan, Billy Spitler, Robbie Spitler, Robert Spitler, John Spitler, Sheila Ambrose, Gary Patton (Fran), Lisa Patton, Mark Patton, Debby James and Jamie James (Martha).
