He is survived by: his wife Kathy Orpin; his mother Joyce Lee Anderson Orpin; his children, Roxanne Webb, Kelly Powles and John Thomas "JT" Orpin III; his grandchildren, Miles Cornish, Persephone "Sephie" Decatur, Henley Rae Powles and Oliver Webb; and his siblings, Carol Kimmitt, Barbara Slack, Debbie Burcham and Ricky Orpin. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
