He was predeceased by: his parents, James T. Chinn and Mattie M. Chinn; his wife Louise Hawkins Chinn; his daughters, Nancy Chinn and Margaret "Peggy" Hartsell; his brothers, Ralph and John Chinn; and his son-in-law Stephen Schaul.
He is survived by: his daughters, Susan Busch (Tom) of Glen Allen, VA and Annette Schaul of King George; his sister Janet LeCouteur of Stafford, VA; his grandchildren, Daphne Shirley, Stephen Schaul, Jr. (Heather), Kirsten Schaul, Matthew Busch (Catie), Nicole Busch and Nathaniel Longfellow (Shelby); his great grandchildren, Connor McCracken and Calvin Longfellow; and his sons-in-law, David Hartsell and David Longfellow (Mary Atwell). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, March 9th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Covenant Funeral Service - Fredericksburg (10830 Patriot Hwy, Fredericksburg, VA 22408). A funeral service was held on Sunday, March 9th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, March 10th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Sunset Memorial Gardens (3702 Loren Dr, Fredericksburg, VA 22408).
