He was predeceased by: his former wife Cynthia Branscome; and his grandson Timothy Stanley. He is survived by: his wife Virginia "Ginnie" Branscome; his daughters, AnnHall Branscome Kendall (John) and Libby Branscome Seeds (Michael); his stepchildren, John Moss, Jr. (Susan), Alice-Cole Reynolds (Austin) and William Moss (Pia); his sister Betty Massey (Blanton); and his grandchildren, Jack Kendall (Laura), James Kendall (Michelle), Cynthia-Rose Seeds, Taylor Moss, Rawlings Moss, Eliza Reynolds, Fielding Reynolds, Virginia Gray "Gigi" Reynolds and Louis Moss. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. George's Episcopal Church.
