She was predeceased by: her parents, Irene McWhirt and Sidney McWhirt of Fredericksburg, VA.; and her siblings, Rannie Burgess, Ralph Burgess, Delmar Burgess and Mary Thompson.
She is survived by: her husband Richard Dickinson; her children, Stefanie Dickinson (Jesse), Richie Dickinson (Lyndsay), Casey Dickinson (Morgan) and Emilee Dickinson; her stepchildren, Pamela Mitchell (Kevin) and Jason Dickinson (Heidi); her adoptive son Joe Reid (Tara); and her sisters, Ruthann Copeland (Tim) and Shirley Marquis (Alan). She is also survived by twelve grandchildren and one great-grandson.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
