He was predeceased by: his parents, Maria Dorsey Byrd and Luther James Barksdale; and his son Maurice Barksdale. He is survived by: his wife Viola Barksdale; his children, Annie, Darrell, Kevin and Davin Barksdale; his grandchildren, Adriane, Jasmine, Ashleigh, Darrell, Dominique, Cedell, Gericho, Gisella, Mariah and Alina; his great grandchild Triniti; and his siblings, Evelyn Spooner and Willie Barksdale.
