He was predeceased by: his parents, Eddie Scruggs and Mary Scruggs; and his half-brother Kenny Scruggs. He is survived by: his wife Debbie Scruggs; his children, Ernie Scruggs, Jr. and Kristi Welch (Anthony); his grandchildren, Kali Camarillo, Ryder Butler and Tilman Welch; and his siblings, Teresa Orrock (Joe), James Scruggs (Pam), Earl Scruggs (Ruth), Connie Lambert (Eddie), Eddie Boy Scruggs (Christine), Shirley Villarreal (Rick) and Virginia Synan. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
