He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond E. King and Viola C. King; his former wife Joyce Keys Brawner King; his wife Patricia Roarty O'Connell King; and his siblings, Raymond E. King, Jr. and Kathryn King Hall.

He is survived by: his daughter Michelle King Henley (Gary) of Fredericksburg; his granddaughter Mollie Lyn Morris of Fredericksburg; and his great grandchildren, Tony, Collin Morris of King George and Nathan Morris of Houma, Louisiana..

Visitation was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Falmouth Baptist Church (302 Colonial Ave, Fredericksburg, VA 22405). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 at 12:30 PM at the Dumfries Cemetery (17821 Batestown Rd, Dumfries, VA 22026).
