He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Wendt and Genevieve Wendt. He is survived by: his wife Bettie Wendt; his children, Dave Wendt (Kathy) and Kelly Sands (Scott); and his grandchildren, Corey Stone, Kendall Stone, Hunter Wendt, Kyle Wendt, Cameron Sands and Kailyn Sands.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Spotsylvania Volunteer Rescue Squad.
