He was predeceased by: his parents, Porter Ankers and Olive Ankers; his former wife Dorothy "Jean" Ankers; his wife Margaret Ankers; his son David Ankers; and his stepgrandson Clint.
He is survived by: his sister Inez Peebles of Leesburg; his children, Allen Ankers, Steven Ankers, Beverly Cormier and Janet Coppage; his stepchildren, Gary Reed, Judy Henderlight and Terry McCarty; and his sister Virginia Garrison. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two step grandchildren.
