He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond E. Carroll and Lelia M. Stevenson (Pinkney); his former wives, Alberta D. Carroll (Taylor), Dolores R. Carroll (White-Berry) and Barbara Carroll (Wright-Washington); his cousin Elizabeth "Bess" Taylor; and his friend Randolph Taylor.
He is survived by: his wife Dearsie Willford Carroll; his children, Jerome L. Carroll, Edward R. Carroll (Karen), Steven Carroll (Vanessa), Anthony B. Carroll (Genene), William S. Carroll (Iris), Carol E. Pendleton (Johnathan), Era L. Williams (Lawrence), Veneticia Berry, Luffon Berry (Elaine), Curtis Berry, Regina Berry, Sabrina Berry, Spencer Berry (Gloria), Barbara Lund (Gus), Paul Jr. (Katrina) of Washington, Nyree of Washington and Cathy Jackson; and his siblings, Francis Stevenson (Junior), Thomas Stevenson (Tommy), Noella (Sis), Bolden (Stevenson), Juanita Haskins (Stevenson) and Cleola Stevenson. He is also survived by 31 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.
