He was predeceased by: his brother John Yates. He is survived by: his parents, Jack Yates and Evelyn Yates; his brothers, Steve Yates (Connie) of Woodbridge and Kris Yates of Fredericksburg; his uncle Roger Kegley (Betty) of Richmond; and his nieces, Emily, Ashley and Megan.
