He was predeceased by: his parents, Cora Coates and Walter Coates; and his sister Janice Coates. He is survived by: his wife Linda; his sons, Toland and Damion (Angela); his siblings, Donald (Carolyn), Victor and Angela of Caroline, VA; his grandchildren, Morgan of Raleigh, NC, Trent of Norfolk, VA, Jasmine of Florida and Jordyn of Florida; his aunt Doll; and his cousin Tracie. He is also survived by three nephews, one niece, four brothers-in-law, three sisters-in-law.
