She was predeceased by: her parents, Bertha Patton Barber and Maurice Earl Barber; her husband Floyd P. Powell; her siblings, Maurice E. Barber, Jr. (Ruby), William D. Barber, Carl L. Barber and Naomi B. Dodd (Lawrence); and her nephew Kenneth W. Barber.
She is survived by: her sister Vera B. Smith; and her sisters-in-law, Joyce M. Barber and Sally L. Barber. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
