He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Martha Layman Old; his son James W. Old (Elizabeth S. Old); his stepchildren, Kelly L. Layman (John D. Rehrer) and Bryan C. Layman (Elaine M. Layman); his grandchildren, Parker, Tyler, Frances, Bennett, Madison and Kathryn; his parents, James Elisha Old, Jr. and Mary Parker Old of Norfolk, VA.; and his former wife Eleanor Markham Old.
Due to COVID restrictions, the burial in Magnolia Cemetery in Norfolk, VA will be private.
Memorial donations are requested in lieu of flowers to the Virginia Commonwealth University Health Pauley Heart Center in Art's name.
