It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alwyn Heyward (Fredericksburg, Virginia), born in Manhattan, New York, who passed away on October 5, 2021, at the age of 60, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Deacon Jack Heyward; his grandparents, Abraham, Julia Heyward, Alywn and Willie Mae Fenner; his uncle Thomas Burroughs; his great-grandparent Ida Bates; and his great-aunt Iola Robinson.
He is survived by: his mother Ida B. Heyward; his siblings, Ida Heyward-Barile (David), Sheila Heyward Snipes, Robert Powell and Kenneth Brown (Terry); and his nieces and nephews, Jacqueline Fields, April Whiting (late Calvin), Dienna Lovely, Thomas Fields, Jr., David Barile (Krissy) and Frank Barile. He is also survived by great nieces, great nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
