She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Tilghman and Elizabeth Tilghman (Ames); and her sister Elizabeth Ann Tilghman Elsea. She is survived by: her husband Harry Lawrence Butler, Jr.; her children, Sharon Dunnagan (Michael), Harry Butler (Debi), Gary Butler (Karen) and Curtis Butler (Heather); and her grandchildren, Debbie, Susan, Greg, Crystal, Brandy, Betty, Mike, Ryan, Patrick and Kevin. She is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Joyce was a breast cancer survivor, so donations to the Riverside Shore Memorial Cancer Center in Onley, Virginia in her name will go a long way in helping to support her kindness and compassion.
