He is survived by: his wife Peggy Lassiter Benton of Franklin; his children, William Scott Benton (Carla) of Bridgewater, VA and Abby Kay Karvois (Gene) of Elkton, MD; his grandchildren, Grant Hansen Benton (Heather), Sara Morgan Benton, Abriel Paige Ancarrow and Kloee Kay Karvois; and his great grandchild Liliana Elise Benton.
