He is survived by: his brother Ramsey Ware Helms; his wife Bonnie Smallwood Helms; his children, Jim and Lori; his children-in-law, Jennifer Witt Helms and Josh Compton; his grandchildren, Teagan (Justin Moore), Ryder, Kendall Compton, Susanna and Jessica Helms; and his great grandchild Hank.
