She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Morris Cobb and Margaret Whitley Cobb; her husband Calvin Rawls Burgess; her daughter Ellen Burgess Williams; her siblings, Fay C. Shelton, Mary C. Blythe, Frances C. Roberts and William M. Cobb; and her grandson Christopher Williams.
She is survived by: her daughters, Susan Gratton (John) of Atlanta, GA and Myra Burgess (Bobby) of New Smyrna Beach, FL; her grandchildren, Jonathan Grattan, Matthew Grattan, Andrew Grattan, Amanda Williams and Jennifer West; and her daughters, Jennifer Harrell, Denise Harcum and Ira Witt. She is also survived by twelve great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and her three special friends.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society or Sycamore Baptist Church.
