With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John William Raiford of Franklin, Virginia, who passed away on April 21, 2023 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Joan Lowe Raiford; his parents, John Shelton and Sadie Bass Raiford; his sister Brenda Luna; and his son-in-law Lawrence Beale.
He is survived by: his daughters, Joann Gatten (Burdette) of Franklin and Sue Beale of Franklin; his sister Audrey Gagner of Franklin; his grandchildren, Gabby, Barclay Gatten, Megan and Miles Beale; and his nephew Noel Luna of Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Franklin Congregational Christian Church, 412 N. High Street, Franklin, VA 23851.
