He was predeceased by: his parents, John Charles Vargo, Sr. and Josephine Hasty Vargo; and his daughter Angelia Harris. He is survived by: his wife Gracie Kitchen Vargo; his son John Charles Vargo, III; his siblings, Mary O'Neal, James Arnold "Bugga" Vargo (Kay) and Thomas Edward "Tommy" Vargo; his grandchildren, Heather Nicole Harris, Joseph Adam Harris (Savannah), Christopher Ryan Vargo and Samantha Gail Richards (Tyler); his great grandchildren, C. J. Harris and Blake Richards; and his son-in-law Steve Harris.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and suggests that memorial donations be made to Burdette Baptist Church or Franklin Fire and Rescue.
