It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Jean Chapman Whitley of Franklin, Virginia, born in Surry, Virginia, who passed away on June 12, 2023, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lewis Chapman and Elizabeth Brown Chapman; and her brothers-in-law, J. C. Arrington and Hal Whitley. She is survived by: her husband Gerald E. Whitley; her sister Mary Beth Arrington of Windsor; her sister-in-law Linda Whitley; her nephews, Jack Arrington (Lisa) and Randy Arrington (Debbie); her great-niece Lauren Copeland (Colt); her great-nephews, Bryce Arrington and Zachary Keeling (Ashley); and her nieces, Ashley Whitley and Anne Renee Whitley.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home and suggests memorial donations be made to the Khedive Shrine Center Building Fund, 645 Woodlake Dr., Chesapeake, VA 23320.
