He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, G. Gilmer Minor, Jr. and Roddey Watkins Minor; his wife Charlotte Major Minor; his children, Cameron Minor Cummings (Jack) and G. Gilmer Minor IV; his grandchildren, Christopher Watkins Raquet, Adeline Margaret Raquet and Bryson Robert Raquet; and his brother Claiborne Watkins Minor.

“Gil taught me the importance of people and relationships. To this day I tell the story of when I first met him when O&M acquired NHHS and we were visiting Richmond to look for a home. The phone rang in our hotel room at 7am and I heard “Dan, this is Gil Minor. We are going to take good care of you here. My personal real estate agent will be showing you around today and after you find a home Charlotte and I would like to take you for spaghetti at Joe’s Inn.” I will never forget that. Dan Eckert.”
