It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Dewey W Edwards Sr. of Franklin, Virginia, born in Waves, North Carolina, who passed away on September 15, 2020, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Woodrow Wilson Edwards and Mellie Midgett Edwards; and his brothers, Woodie and Don Edwards. He is survived by: his wife Betty Grizzard Edwards; his children, Dewey Wayne Edwards, Jr. and Donna Edwards Rose (Davis); his grandchildren, Daelyn, Dutchess and Denver Rose; his sister Judy Williams (Ronald); his sister-in-law Diane A. Edwards; his nephew Ronnie Williams (Gina); and his friend Homer Styron.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 PM prior to the service in the funeral home and suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Franklin Baptist Church, High Street United Methodist Church, or the Courtland Youth Athletic Association (CYAA), 24224 Story's Station Rd., Courtland, VA 23837.
