It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Alice Rettie Johnson of Franklin, Virginia, born in Franklin, West Virginia, who passed away on February 21, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Leonard Hedrick and Betty Jane Hedrick (Simmons); her husband Roscoe Johnson; her sons, Leonard "Bus" Hedrick and Tommy Johnson; her son-in-law C. T. Own, Jr.; and her siblings, Fred Hedrick, Lizetta Sponaugle, Ida Belle Vandevander, William Hedrick, Cora Hedrick, Thomas Hedrick, Viola Hedrick, James Hedrick, Warren Hedrick, Rebecca Hedrick, Leonard Hedrick, Jr., Luther Hedrick and Robert Hedrick.
She is survived by: her daughter Linda Owen (Dewey) of Elkton, VA; her grandchildren, Andrea Owen of Franklin, Staci Owen (Chad) of Rockingham, VA, Loren Owen (Heather) of Elkton, VA, Ashley Johnson (Josh) of Franklin and Rachel Johnson of Franklin; her great grandchildren, Allie Simmons, Jaida Reel, Bryn Reel, Cole Puffenbarger, Finley Ritchie, Leah Puffenbarger and Brooks Ritchie; and her nieces, Vickie and Dinah.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home (826 Blue Gray Trail, Franklin, WV 26807). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 27th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to any Pendleton County Rescue Squad.
