He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Marion Egan and Sarah Jane Egan (Darnell); and his sister Ruby Egan Shelton. He is survived by: his wife Virginia Egan; his daughter Amanda Reed (Edgar "Neal" Reed); his siblings, Patsy Mae Necessary, Carrie Head, Debbie Gillenwater (Don), James Egan (Shirley), Roy Egan, Billy Egan (Betty) and Bobby Egan; and his granddaughters, Olivia Reed and Bella Reed. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 22nd 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 at 10:15 AM at the Gate City Funeral Home (136 Beech St, Gate City, VA 24251). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 22nd 2024 at 7:00 PM at the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel (136 Beech St, Gate City, VA 24251). A graveside service was held on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Pierson Cemetery (13127 Clinch River Hwy, Fort Blackmore, VA 24250).
