He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Wheeler and Hattie Wheeler. He is survived by: his wife Beatrice Thomas Wheeler of Huntington; his daughters, Patrice Wheeler, Michelle Haenggi (Eric) and Dianne Lessman (Mark); his grandsons, Sean Fitzgerald, Eric Haenggi, Scott Haenggi, Alannah Fitzgerald and Gray Haenggi; and his brother Dr. John Wheeler of Gresham, OR..
