She was predeceased by: her spouse James I. Porter; her parent Christopher Alexander; her siblings, Dallas Bumgarner, Lonnie Bumgarner, Marvin Bumgarner, Clinton Bumgarner, Maynard Bumgarner, Edward Bumgarner, Essie Bumgarner Paulett and Rebecca Mae Owen; and her grandson Brian Meeks.

She is survived by: her parent Rebecca Grogan Bumgarner; her children, David A. Porter (Linda) of Durham, NC, Judy Phillips (Ray) of Rustburg, Mary Logwood (Glenn) of Forest, Sally Meeks (Gary) of Rustburg and Patsy Brady (Kenneth) of Evington; and her brothers, James Bumgarner (Marilyn) and Abner Bumgarner. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
