She was predeceased by: her spouse Rucker Alexander Tibbs, Sr.; and her parent Joseph Edward. She is survived by: her child Tibbs, Jr.; her parent Elizabeth "Betty" Williamson Simpkins; her children, Betty Jo Tibbs and Rucker Jr.; her wife Brenda; her friend Larry Witt of Forest; her grandchildren, Chris Tibbs (Laurie), Sunny Tibbs Thornton (Matt) and Charlie Ferguson, III (Wendy); her great grandchildren, Grayson Tibbs, Story Smith, Wyatt Thornton, Chase Thornton and Charlie Ferguson, IV; her sister-in-law Shirley Tibbs; and also, Janet Tibbs and Jean Ferguson. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Centra Hospice or a favorite charity of choice.
