He was predeceased by: his father Wesley Frank Leonard; and his brother Marvin Leonard. He is survived by: his wife Louise Martin Leonard; his mother Frances Smith Leonard Schuyler; his sons, Joseph F. Leonard (Glinda) of Rustburg, Tim E. Leonard (Roxanne) of Rustburg and Mike S. Leonard (Bobbi) of Rustburg; his siblings, Ronnie Leonard (Robin) of Tennessee, Norma L. Harris of Rustburg, Brenda L. Evans (Donnie) of Huddleston, Susan L. Phillips (Joe) of Altavista and Steve Wood (Pam) of Vinton; and his grandchildren, Raven Leonard, Lauren Leonard and Hunter Franklin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post 16 or to the American Cancer Society.
