He was predeceased by: his parents, Alma Clarke and Joseph Ellington; and his sisters, Mary, Eunice Ellington, Lillian E. Beber, Louise Parrish and Mildred Ellington.
He is survived by: his nephew Wayne Parrish (Pat); his great-niece Megan Parrish; his cousins, Edith May Armstrong (family: Brenda Ribblett) and Mount Hope Baptist Church; and also, Cliff and Karen Dye.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the church or to Freckles and Friends Animal Sanctuary, 1921 Mill Quarter Rd., Ford, VA 23850.
