He was predeceased by: his parents, John Gordon Hensley and Carrie Hensley (Glenn); his wife Ruth Elizabeth Hensley; his grandchild Terry Lynn Campbell; his siblings, John C. Hensley, Charles E. Hensley, Leonard P. Hensley and Helen Hensley; and his son-in-law John W. "Sonny" Painter, Jr..
He is survived by: his children, Sandi "Sue" Painter, Susan Elaine Campbell (Wayne), Dwight Hensley (Tammy Kincaid), Janice Rankin (Timothy) and Adena George (Mark Eppard); his grandchildren, Chris, Chad, Lisa Campbell, Joey, Tommy, Amy, Jacob Hensley, John David, Steven, Amber Painter, Timothy Downs, Timothy Rankin, Shane George, Brittany Hughes and Brandon Mawyer; his siblings, Frank Hensley of Florida and Marie Fitzgerald of Waynesboro; his brother-in-law Francis Mawyer of Waynesboro; and his grandchild Active.
