She was predeceased by: her spouse Dana L. "J. D." Mejia of Fishersville; her parents, Thurman Gilbert and Gladys Monroe (Claytor); and her siblings, Dale Monroe, Sandra Arnette and Alice Holmes.
She is survived by: her children, Shannon Combs (Susan) of Stuarts Draft and Shayla Branch (Keith) of Stuarts Draft; her stepsons, Jesse Mejia, Adam Mejia and Randy Mejia; her grandchildren, Dakota and Kyle Branch; and her cousin Barbara Mayo.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory (230 Frontier Dr, Staunton, VA 24401). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel (230 Frontier Dr, Staunton, VA 24401). A burial was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Augusta Memorial Park (1775 Old Goose Crk Rd, Waynesboro, VA 22980).
