He was predeceased by: his parents, John Wesley and Anna Compton Taylor (Patterson); his daughter Emily Jackson Taylor; and his sister Anna Compton Currin. He is survived by: his wife Gillian Taylor (Whybrew); his daughter Anna Compton Taylor; and his sister Judith Green (Braxton).

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Valley Mission, 1513 West Beverley Street Staunton, Virginia 24401.
